CREATIVE MOVEMENT DANCE CAMP

session 2: June 3-June 7 (ages 4-8)
session 3: June 10-June 14 (ages 9-12)

The North Star Ballet School’s Creative Movement Dance Camp is one of the most popular programs offered by the School for good reason. Under the inspired leadership of Ruth Merriman, Director of the Creative Movement Program and Sue Perry, the North Star Ballet School’s Principal Teacher, the Camp provides a delightful, educational experience that promotes physical, social and creative growth for children ages 4 – 9.
A traditional fairy tale ballet provides the theme for a wide range of dance and dance related activities. In each one week session the children illustrate their very own storybook as they recreate the characters of the story in creative movement. Through craft and art projects the children explore the history of the ballet and its music and create costumes and props. The week concludes as the children assemble the many elements that make up a ballet in a dance demonstration in which they experience the thrill of performance as a choreographer, costume designer and dancer.
The Creative Movement Dance Camp will be held in two separate sessions:

Camp hours: 9am - noon
Sessions will be held form 9 am to 12 pm. Placement is based on student’s age and related dance experience. The sessions have limited enrollment and early registration is strongly advised. For more information or to register call the North Star Ballet School at 451-8800.
